“Less thinking, more doing.”

This year I am taking more action. There is a certain amount of thinking you must do before executing, but when does it become over thinking? The basics need to be covered like who, what, why, etc. The more time I have to think, the more I allow myself to be talked out of doing something.

Fear is a manipulative emotion. Fear wants to stay in the comfort zone because it is afraid of being awkward or embarrassed. It can’t deal with the discomfort. While staying in the comfort zone works for some people, there is much more growth (imo) outside of it.

When we take action, how do we navigate those uncomfortable moments?

We self soothe.

As the feelings of anxiousness/discomfort arise, conjure your inner voice and tell yourself you are okay. Remind yourself you are safe and the feelings will pass.

Things I say to myself are
- it’s okay, stay calm.
- remember to breathe.
- stay present.
- this is temporary.
- you got this.

So far, I’ve gotten through 100% of the uncomfortable moments in my life. I trust in myself to get through whatever else life swings my way. 💙
